How to fit your wetsuit

Updated: 7 days ago

Before you get you suit:

  • If you're unsure of size, check your measurements against our size chart.

    • Your torso length is from the base of your collarbone to the base of your crotch.

    • Your chest measurement is around the widest point of your chest, after a comfortable exhale.

    • Your waist measurement is at the narrowest point of your waist after a comfortable exhale, not tensed.

    • Your hip measurement is at the widest point of your hips.

    • Your arm measurement is from the top of your shoulder to the centre of your wrist.

  • If you are between sizes, consider whether you would prefer your suit to be extra snug and warm but a bit harder to pull on (size down) or a little easier to pull on and roomier (size up). Our springies will also sit a little higher cut if you size down, and have a bit more coverage if you size up.

  • If you are under 5'4", we highly recommend sizing down if you are unsure. If you are taller than 5'8", we recommend sizing up if you are unsure.

Don't worry if your measurements don't fit squarely into one size, a good rule of thumb is just choosing whichever one you're closest to, or whichever size most closely corresponds to your torso length for our springies and shorties. Our suits are super stretchy and designed to hug your body so they are very flexible and forgiving when it comes to sizing.

After you get your suit:

  • Your wetsuit should be snug, making you feel feel slightly compressed without any pinching. You shouldn't feel like you're going to cut off any circulation.

  • You will need to shimmy your wetsuit on, but once it's on it should be comfortable throughout your full range of motion.

  • Check to ensure that you don't have any bagging or gaping at the wrists or neck, where water could 'flush' through.
