The story of our collaboration collection with Local Famous

We reached out to Sean Duncan-Kinchela way, way back in May of 2022 when he posted a digital mock up of one of his designs on a wetsuit and we saw the potential of what we could create together. Sean is a Gamilaroi and Wiradjuri artist who specialises in digital art creation and storytelling, among other things - Ben and I actually have one of his incredible original paintings hanging in our house.

I provided him with a colour palette and he created the incredible pattern you now see on our new suits. The artwork is unique to this collection and will not be repeated, to preserve its significance as a limited, collectible piece of wearable art.

The pattern tells the story of ocean ecosystems along the coastline of this beautiful Country, and highlights the interconnectedness of all things. The fluidity of the pattern is representative of the currents and motions of the sea, and the movement of life along with them.

The greens represent the flora and the colour is named after Saltbush, a hardy coastal shrub found up and down the coast and known for its salty taste.

The purples represent the fauna, and are named for Staghorn coral, which when health can be a vibrant array of purples and is abundant at the Abrohlos Islands where my family and I travel each year to dive.

We are so proud of this collection and can't wait to see all the ways you wear it.
